Our Food Allergy Mom Community - EOE Moms
Since becoming a Certified AllerCoach, I’ve learned a lot about the members that make up our food allergy mom community. Yes, there are moms of kids with anaphylactic allergies like me, but there are also other moms out there that are struggling with other food allergy conditions.
One of those conditions is EOE. EOE stands for Eosinophilic Esophagitis and it’s a disorder where white blood cells collect in the esophagus (the tube from the mouth to the stomach). According to Food Allergy Canada, it’s an allergic response, usually to food, but can also be to pollen.
As with everything, many doctors treat EOE differently and each case is different, but sometimes, kids with EOE are required to remove allergens completely from their diet. This is where we mamas bond because anaphylactic mamas know the stress of removing food we once loved from our “no go” list. It’s not easy!
This week, I got to chat with an EOE mom who’s rocking it in The Inspired Kitchen Membership. Her name is Suzy York, and not only is she an EOE mom, but she’s created a podcast called Caring For EoE (Eosinophilic Esophagitis) to help other moms in the same boat.
I had a blast talking with Suzy and I want to personally invite you to listen in on our conversation. It was meant to help those mamas struggling with EOE, but as it turns out, there are awesome truth bombs for all of us food allergy moms!
Check out the podcast here.
What about you? Have you heard of EOE, or are you a mom managing this condition for your little? Let me know in the comments!
P.S. Since this podcast aired, I’ve replaced The Inspired Kitchen Membership with an online course called 90-Minute Variety Booster.
